Since starting THM diet, I had to try a lot of new recipes. Some of them were not bad, some of them were just bleh! Even though I know how to bake, using new kinds of flour and trying to separate fats from carbs is always challenging. I like the challenge! I just wish the results were more enjoyable, which doesn’t happen as often as I want. Sometimes it is frustrating, and possibly you have experienced it too.

Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day. I love this feeling when it is so early that it feels like you have a lot of time before you need to run and do stuff. It is quiet and peaceful. In short, perfect time to sit down with nice cup of tea and enjoy your meal.
Pirozhki are usually baked stuffed buns made from yeast dough and often glazed with egg.
This dish is one of my favourite from my childhood. I remember my Grandmother making pirozhki with potato or cabbage for me; my Mom usually made them with carrot of sorrel. They are very tasty hot, just baked, but they are also tasty cold; and it is so convenient to take them with you!
As any popular dish, it has thousands of variations, and each family has their own recipe, of course “the best one”. I am sharing my the best recipe.
Sometimes I just want something light, fresh and tasty. And this focaccia with tomatoes and balsamic is exactly it!
Summer is here! I love and hate it at the same time. I love it because it is summer: sunny, hot, with a lot of fresh fruits and fun activities. But I hate it because it is impossible for me to do anything serious in summer. And my best friend Marfa explained it so well just today: in Russia every single year during school (and it is 12 years!!) we had no school for the whole summer. This habit is not so easy to break! This is probably a reason why she wanted to become a teacher!
Summer is always something that I am looking for; and it always is something that comes unnoticeable (and of course ends too quickly!). But the first sign of summer for me is rhubarb. I love to eat it raw, but for my boyfriend it is a challenge, so I prepared this pie for him. It is sweet and sour with buttery short crust.
New semester just started, and it is not much time to cook something complicated.
But I still couldn’t resist when I had an idea to bake rose hip-lemon pound cake. I modified my orange pound cake recipe and changed an icing. You can substitute rose hip syrup with any kind, for example, I am thinking about violet one…
Today is another sad rainy day. Fortunately, I know the recipe to survive (even two!)! What could be better than light meringues that melt in your mouth and rich, spicy pumpkin bread? Both are really easy to make!

On Saturday me and my boyfriend went to the market and finally bought 2 kilos of fresh salmon. Finally – because we were going to do it for so long! It was not even a question what to do with it, obviously, we were going to salt it. If you like salted salmon as much as we do, you will love this recipe!
Don’t think I am obsessed with oranges (may be a little bit), just have some really juicy and fresh ones right now.
Usually I am not a big fan of pound cakes because in my opinion they are all so bland and dry… But not this one! This one is one of my favourite – it is moist, flavourful and soooo tasty!
Today I did not bake traditional Russian cake for Easter as usually because I got a request from 4-years old birthday girl to make cupcakes. And I did. Just chocolate flavour with vanilla french buttercream and chocolate eggs on top.
